Sound like you need new shafts or paddles and I know the paddles can cost $30 each. so think about a new model or buy one at a thrift store and try those paddle or use the machine. I got a great one for $10 . :)

Could be old flour or old yeast, not enough fluid. And the temperature of your kitchen. You should be using a dough Hook not paddle I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer and it uses a hook for dough paddles offer too much resistance for dough.
