My coffer maker brew basket
Hello, Srober48 -
Since your Black & Decker coffee maker is only a few months old, it is most likely still covered by warranty.
I suggest you call the Black & Decker Customer Service / Support telephone number printed in your owner's manual / instructions and find out if you can take the coffee maker to an authorized repair center (for free, warranty-covered repair) or if the company will provide you with a replacement coffee maker.
Note: I suggest you do not try to repair the coffee maker yourself while it is still covered by the warranty.
Best wishes.

The symptoms you describe make me think that the brew thermostat OR a thermal fuse has gone bad. I would try to get a warranty replacement, since it is less than 6 months old.
I fill the Brew and
It sounds like the valve [ball?] at the bottom of your reservoir is sticking. That will prevent good water flow into the heating chamber. Hence, the thermostat trips and shuts off the brew element. Try running undiluted vinegar [without coffee in the basket] to see if this cleans the valve. Also try turning the maker upside down over the sink when the cycle stops, to "backwash" the valve with the vinegar. You may have to repeat this several times.

Use your phone book or online yellow pages to search for a repair shop in your area. I suspect a thermal fuse has blown in your unit. Only an experienced repair tech can replace it. Sometimes, the cost of the repair is more than a replacement appliance.
Trying to figure out how to turn off buzzer indicator on black & Decker Smart Brew coffee maker.
You cannot turn off beeping but i have found a 'hack' to do so if you are desperate, instead of caulking i would reccomend just simple blue tack/white tack...easier and also removable.
"Now if you want to squelch that beeping (this will probably void the warranty)...You can take off the bottom of the unit (but be advised you need a special screwdriver on one of the screws hidden under the rubber feet).
You will see a circuit board held by nylon standoffs, once you get the board loose you will see a round black unit with a hole in the top side, this is the beeper. To lower the volume so you can barely hear it fill the hole with caulking or silicone and reassemble. (be careful not to pinch any wires....Good Luck....."

the thermal overload may have opened. Unfortunately, they are single use items. Open up the unit and check the overload, usually a small item with two wires attached to it. this item would be fastened to the heating element. I save broken coffee makers and salvage the overloads in case I need one later and have replaced several over the years.
Coffee pot spills when pouring
This is a back flow problem.
the pressure of the fluid being push by air.
the small lip on the pot can't handle the flow.
go with a small tilt and you should be fine.
Black & Decker SpaceMaker leaks badly.
It has nothing to do with the spring or its tension. I have had 3 of these coffee makers now. Each on has started leaking water from the reservoir after some amount of time. If you carefully look at where the rubber washer/spring thing is, right above the hole where it goes in, you will see a small "crack" in the plastic that develops after repeated use of this coffee maker. That's where the water is coming from. Each one of the reservoirs I have had has developed this crack in the plastic right there. It is a design flaw. I will never buy one of these again.
