My bissell proheat blows dirty water out

How to fix water not coming out

The connection for the tank on the base of the unit has a little rubber flap valve inside. The valve sticks shut. Usually the water pressure from the tank is enough to press it down. I usually defeat it by pushing all the way through it with a small screwdriver or something similar.

Was disassembling the bottom to replace the roller and took too many pieces out. Cannot reassemble two pieces which have springs.
