Bionaire Dryers - Answered Questions & Fixed Issues

Throw it away. I have come to conclude that Bionaire is a junk brand that does not service their products. I have a bionaire model BCM646 humidifier purchased at COSCO and the water tank broke.
NO! I did not drop it, it just sat in the corner. I have not even used all the factory filters that came with it.
Who would have thought a made in China product (for American idiots) would break and not have replacement parts?
Such a shock considering their fine reputation.

Take it apart and swap the fans over. If the none working fan still doesn't work, you need a new fan motor. If the none working fan does work, you have a wiring issue. https://www.google.com/search?q=Bionair+Dual+Fan ..

Look up this fan on amazon.com. In the comments/reviews a gentleman posted instructions for fixing the thermostat (it involves opening up the fan and repositioning the thermostat wire).

There is a major problem with the fan's electronic board. There is most likely a shorted capacitor, or some sort of fried transistor somewhere. depending on your electronics know how, try troubleshooting the circuit starting with it's power supply/input. but depending on the price of the fan, and the amount of aggrivation, I would just get a new one. Remember, most of the newer appliances today are ment to only last a few years, then die. I don't care what it is. all the companies want to do is make them as cheaply as possible, so they can sell more of them, and make more money. so don't be surprised if you can't fix it. some things are just not fixable.

I DON'T KNOW. PLEASE CONSIDER SWITCHING THE WIRES SO SAFE BAR POSITION IS 'HEAT ON' AND TILTED BAR POSITION IS 'HEAT OFF'. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH ELECTRICITY AND MORESO WHEN MAKING REPAIRS WHERE THERE MIGHT BE A CHANCE OF FUTURE FIRES. BE WELL.

i bought a bionaire fan today and was looking at the manual the fuse is located at the end of the cord where it plugs into wall you have to open the square piece holding the prongs there you will see it good luck

There are no user serviceable parts in that fan.

The easiest way to to use pressurized air. Buy a can or use compressed air.

These run very small motors with low "starting torque" If the fan hasn't been run for a long time, its possible that it has jammed up or got tight from just sitting there. Being careful, turn on the fan and spin it in its usual direction by hand, it should start running. If you cannot spin by hand, it may have seized up which will require you to strip and lube the motor. If you manage to get the fan spinning , let it run on high fan speed for an hour or so, it should free up and then be OK again. A small spray of WD40, CRC or similar spray can lube on the fan shaft where it disappears into the motor may assist.

Might need to be cleaned..If there are any small children around it they like to see what can fit into holes fan might have a lot of lint and or small coin blocking it from turning also check water tank it won't work if it's full.

wow... you must have got it really wet ! but if that is why it is not working now, then set it out in the sun for a few hours, or put it in front of another fan. hope this helps. post if it does. I found my own solution for fixing my fan, I took the cover off of the fan by removing the base, and the three screws that hold the cover on, I cold start the fan by turning it on and forcing the blades to turn, But that was the only way it would work. What I found was at the top of the shaft that goes through the fan there is a rubber cap that holds grease it is held on with two screws , The grease in the cup was hard and wouldn't let the fan move freely, So I cleaned out the old grease and put in some new grease that I had here it is grease used for my pool pump motors to keep the seals soft so this grease wont get hard. I put the fan back together and it is working fine. I hope that this works for you. Denis K.

like many electrical items there made for the right fuse or breaker to be ran off of the main box so there is a high odds your fan had to many amps going through it and very good that you blew the motor,you would have to replace the motor if you want it to run again.

Check the thermal fuse located inside the motor fan winding wire. Check the crystal oscillator and micro-controller located in the printed control board of the fan. When it is replace with similar type, the fan will function again and ready to be use.
