The pressure foot on my bernina bernette 715 won't move

Troubleshoot this. Here are some steps you can take: Safety Setting Adjustment: In newer firmware versions (V9.xx), a safety sewing setting was added to prevent the ruler foot from hitting the needle holder when the foot is hovering and the needle is down. If your presser foot only raises slightly (about 2mm), it might be due to this safety setting. To resolve this, change the setting from the maximum of 2mm to a maximum of 6mm. Remember to switch it back to the original setting when using the ruler foot. Check the Needle Position: Ensure that the needle is in the highest position (raised) before attempting to move the presser foot. If the needle is down, the presser foot may not move freely. Inspect for Obstructions: Examine the area around the presser foot for any obstructions, tangled threads, or debris. Make sure there's nothing preventing the presser foot from moving smoothly. Presser Foot Pressure Adjustment: Uneven fabric feed can occur if the pressure on the presser foot is too high or too low. Adjust the presser foot pressure according to the thickness of the fabric you're working with. Power Cycle and Reconnect: Turn off the machine and disconnect it from the power source. Reconnect it and power it back on. Refer to the Manual: Consult your Bernina Bernette 715 user manual for specific troubleshooting steps related to the presser foot. If these steps don't resolve the problem, you may have to take it to a professional repair service.

I have a Bernina 802 sewing machine and the reverse won't work to back stitch. It seems the feed dogs are lifting up at one end rather than just shifting back. How can I get it to work?

Lovely machine, sounds like it may need some age related maintenance. Start by oiling all the red dots. If you are not familiar with the oiling spots internally, I’d suggest checking out Facebook group vintage Bernina sewing machines, the group has files including manuals and service manuals. There is about 14 points to lubricate these.
Good quality sewing machine oil, not household or 3-in-1.

Where can i find the firmware to update my Bernina 180 Artista. My sewing machine is version 3 and my embroidery module is version 4. Dealers are not able to help.

Unfortunately, the Bernina Artista 180 has no firmware. The available support is here: https://www.bernina.com/en-US/Support-US/Machines/BERNINA-artista/BERNINA-artista-180 . Other Bernina sewing machines have firmware available on their respective support sites. On other brands of embroidery sewing machines, the embroidery modules from different machines are not compatible with other generation embroidery machines. This may be true with the Bernina machines, as well, since the brand names are often made by the same company. I wish that I had better news for you. Cindy Wells (I helped a neighbor who had two Viking embroidery machines fix the non-working embroidery unit by realizing she'd switched the modules. Then I labeled them modules to ensure that they stayed with their respective machines.)

Bernina Artista 170 with embroidery module. Used a design card and embroidery one day and next day no designs. What has happened to the design?

Make sure the design cards are going into the machine's card slot correctly. The system might not be able to recognize the card's designs if it is inserted incorrectly.

How do I lower my feed dogs on my older Bernina 830 Record when I can't turn my knob?

It sounds like it needs cleaning, lubricating and whilst doing that, they check the hook timing. When was is last serviced? If you use a sewing machine a lot, they need servicing every couple of years, if only occasionally, every 3 years because the gum up like yours has. If you want to attempt it yourself, you have to get behind it, spray liberally with WD40, wait 5 minutes and agitate with a 1/2" paintbrush. Rinse off with WD40 and then dry it with a shop cloth.

I have a Bernina 930 record, zigzag stitch it misses some zigzag stitches & does straight stitches

If your Bernina 930 record sewing machine is experiencing issues with zigzag stitches and straight stitches, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the needle: Ensure that the needle is properly inserted and not bent or dull. Replace the needle if necessary, making sure to use the correct needle type and size for the fabric you are sewing.
  2. Adjust the stitch width and length: Verify that the stitch width and length settings are properly adjusted for the desired zigzag stitch. Refer to your machine's user manual for instructions on how to adjust these settings correctly.
  3. Clean and lubricate the machine: A build-up of lint or lack of lubrication can affect the machine's performance. Clean the bobbin area and other accessible parts of the machine using a soft brush or lint brush. Apply a drop of sewing machine oil to the recommended areas as specified in the user manual.
  4. Check the tension: Improper tension can lead to skipped stitches. Ensure that the upper thread tension is properly adjusted for the fabric and thread you are using. Consult the user manual for guidance on adjusting the tension correctly.
  5. Test with different fabrics and threads: Try sewing on different fabrics using different types of thread to determine if the issue is specific to certain materials. This will help identify whether the problem lies with the machine or the materials being used.
  6. Have the machine serviced: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to have your Bernina 930 record serviced by a professional. There could be underlying mechanical issues that require expert attention.
It's important to note that the Bernina 930 record is a vintage sewing machine, and finding a qualified technician with experience working on older models may be beneficial if further repairs or adjustments are needed.

How do I access G2 stitch series on Bernina 1530 Inspiration?

The G2 Stitch series on the Bernina 1530 Inspiration is a set of decorative stitches that are programmed into the machine's memory. To access these stitches, follow these steps:

1. Turn on your Bernina 1530 Inspiration sewing machine.
2. Use the stitch selector dial or buttons to select stitch number 800, which is the starting point for the G2 Stitch series.
3. Once you've selected stitch number 800, you can use the stitch length and width adjustment dials or buttons to customize the stitch to your desired specifications.
4. To access the other G2 stitches, simply press the "next" or "previous" button on the stitch selector panel to cycle through the stitch numbers. The G2 stitches are numbered 801 through 811.
5. Select the G2 stitch you want to use, adjust the stitch length and width as desired, and start sewing!

It's important to note that the G2 Stitch series is not available on all models of the Bernina 1530 Inspiration, so if you're having trouble accessing these stitches, it's possible that your machine may not have them. In that case, you can consult your machine's manual or contact a Bernina dealer for assistance.

Bernina Activa 130 won't turn on but has power and makes faint clicking sound

Based on the symptoms you have described, it's possible that there may be an issue with the power switch, the motor, or the circuit board of your Bernina Activa 130 sewing machine. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the power cord and connections: Ensure that the power cord is securely plugged into the machine and the outlet. Check for any frayed or damaged wires in the power cord or connections, as this could cause the machine to not turn on.
  2. Check the power switch: Inspect the power switch for any damage or debris that may be preventing it from functioning correctly. You can also try pressing and holding the power switch for a few seconds to see if it turns on the machine.
  3. Check the motor: If the motor is not functioning correctly, it may prevent the machine from turning on. Try turning the handwheel manually to see if it turns smoothly. If it doesn't, the motor may be the issue.
  4. Check the circuit board: A faulty circuit board can also cause the machine to not turn on. If you're comfortable with electronics, you can try inspecting the circuit board for any visible damage or loose connections. However, if you're not familiar with electronics, it's best to take the machine to a qualified technician for repair.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's best to take your sewing machine to a qualified technician or a Bernina service center for further diagnosis and repair.

I have lost the Upper Looper Converter for my Bernina Serger Funlock Delux 007D. The only one I can find is mad by Juki, they look very much alike. .

The Bernina Serger Funlock Delux 007D and the Juki sergers use different parts and attachments. It's very unlikely that a Juki upper looper converter will fit or work with your Bernina Funlock Delux 007D serger. Upper Looper Converter is a specific part designed to work with specific models of sergers. Even if the part looks very similar, it may not have the same dimensions, interface or functionality, thus it may not fit or function properly. It's always best to use the correct, manufacturer-approved parts for your machine to ensure proper function and to avoid any potential damage to the machine or injury to the user. If you're unable to locate the correct upper looper converter for your Bernina Funlock Delux 007D serger, you can try contacting Bernina customer service or a local Bernina dealer to see if they have the part available. They may also have information on repair service or refurbished parts. You can also check online or on serger community websites to find other Bernina Funlock Delux 007D owners who may have parts they no longer need.
