" I tried the codes that ***you*** supplied "
We didn't supply any codes. We are FIXYA, we aren't Benq.
The password is there to help prevent these projectors being stolen. I would be sceptical where the seller got it from. This what Benq say. "Take to to a Service Centre".
I forgot the password, is there any way to unlock the projector?

Due to security concern, it is designed as not possible to unlock the projector if the password is forgotten. The only way is to return the projector to service center for resetting.

1. Use a cable. The simplest, most common way to use Microsoft Office files on your BenQ Board is to connect your laptop using an HDMI or USB-C cable. · 2. Use ...
The green temp light indicates that the fan isn't working; some models have 2 fans. The fan cools the projector lamp and protects the unit from damage. When the fan isn't working, the projector turns off to keep the temperature from continuing to rise. This information is available on page 52 of the User Manual available here: https://www.benq.com/en-us/support/downloads-faq/products/projector/w1080st/manual.html . The current link to the manual is https://esupportdownload.benq.com/esupport/Projector/UserManual/Projector_um_User%20Manual_20130529_114725W1070_W1080ST_EN.pdf . The recommended solution is a service call.
If your projector is out of warranty and not covered by a repair plan, I found several sources for the replacement fan with a Google search. IFixit has some videos for taking apart the projector to clean it and replace the fan on some BenQ projectors.
I hope this helps.

Im not sure but for in some rare circumstances, especially perhaps Benq(they produce niche items as well ) there might be a load up procedure for the operating system--Consult or download theoperators manual for your model--with this manufacturer its too early to say you have no operating system but it also might be the case.
Sorry I don't really have an answer I had the same issue with a Sanyo I had to keep putting back the old lamp and getting it to start on that one then shut down and swap, eventually it worked, it was a pain. in the end I bought an led projector for the price of a new lamp for the old one
It is possible to bridge to another power supply. There are simple tutorials on YT to help and the process is not very invasive, if you do not wish to harm the current bezel. I was unable to find a switch online to match the model number. Maybe try something close enough to match.
Presuming it is a Benq? Moved Question to Benq from Televisions category.
Lots of references to the section in the manual, but nothing to tell you how to fix it! Seems like it doesn't understand the date being fed to it. Contact Benq Support.
