The F connector adapeter cable broke off and the

You've probably solver it now, but if not, try holding the nozzle from your vacuum cleaner against the socket and sucking it out. If that doesn't do the trick, then tip the card up so the socket is pointing down and try tapping the socket-the combination of gravity + vibration may loosen the wire enough to protrude, then you can retrieve it with tweezers or small pliers. Card is not making the connections when inserting

As it turns out, I was unaware of the "express" type slots for express cards. And as it turns out, I have an express slot built into my laptop that I didn't even know existed even though I've had this computer for a couple of years. The media card fits in the express slot just fine with the stabilizer. Now if I can get the card to pick up a signal...any signal besides the "snow and static" channel.

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Well I'm glad it sounds like you fixed it.. Just so you know you have Restore, computer still with Windows Vista Ultimate, and if you do have the FULL VERSION Vista on a DISK, you can reinstall it over and over again, I have... I find that because I use my computer so much, that every 7 or 8 months I do a clean reinstall, to make sure that my virus program hasn't missed anything, and to protect what I do with my computer system too. Its a pain, but it keeps it working pretty good.

Here is the link for the software and drivers. I am not sure if you will be able to down load from your Cannon DV Recorder or not. But this site should be able to answer that question also.
