The stop button on my record player doesn't stop
hey there Jack, I have the exact same turntable and had the exact same problem. It's a pretty simple fix.
The control arm for the stop button, more then likely, got pushed a bit too far back.
Now bare with me, because I don't know the names of the mechanisms, but I'll try to make it sound simple.
First you're going to take off plate and belt, because you're going to be taking off the bottom cover of your turntable. If you don't remove the plate & belt, when you flip over the turntable, it's all going to fall and you could damage your belt.
Next your going to flip over the turntable and remove the screws that are holding on the bottom cover on. I think there are 5 of them.
Now that the cover is off, look at where the play and stop buttons are. Follow the thin metal arms that are connected to them. They should end at a white plastic piece (sorry, I don't know the name of it). Now check if the stop arm is hooked behind it or if it's pressed against the front of it. The stop arm should be RESTING ON THE FRONT of the white plastic piece.
If it's hooked behind the plastic piece, carefully pull it out and then place it against the front of the white plastic piece and you should be good to go.
