With a test light check to see if there is voltage at the connector buttons. If so you may have a faulty bulb. If not, test the feed wire to the bulb. If it has voltage then make sure the system has a good ground. If no voltage then follow the wire back to its source .

If you are reving in park, it has a rpm limiter to protect the engine. If you are on the road and it will not rev, then you may have a fuel problem. Check the fuel pressure with a gauge . Could have a bad filter of pump. Depending on which type of injection system audi used.

Step 2 - Check transmission fluid Place the drain pan under the transmission's drain plug, then loosen the plug with a 14mm Alllen wrench. If the fluid is up to temperature and at the right level, only a very small amount will drip out, but if none comes out at all, chances are you are low.

need more information though the most common problems emanate from flat battery, starter motor not getting power(no click sound), starter motor not turning( clicking but no whinning), starter motor turning but not starting( bendix worn out), other contributing factors include fuel and spark. provide more details to get help
