Asko d3121 dishwasher overfills with water inside

This could be any number of problems, but the easiest place to start is to check the overflow cap. remove the lower dishrack and set it out of your way. now pull straight up on the center of the lower wash arm (thing made of metal with holes in it that spins and sprays water) It just clips into place so it should come odd easily. behind where that clipped in is a grey sort of squarish cap that covers the overflow. pull up on it and look inside it. if it has a lot of buildup in it, it can cause water to siphon down into the lower overflow tray. clean it out then go buy a couple bottles of a product called dishwasher magic. stuff works wonders for cleaning dishwashers. after you put the unit all back together, follow the directions on the dishwasher magic to let it clean out anything you cant get to and try it again. If this doesn't work, you've probably got a leaking part or a bad water level sensor or a clogged drain hose (usually in the copper or plastic extension someone added to stick down the standpipe because the factory hose wasn't long enough) Hope this helps!

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher - leaks from Overfill Protection Float

I had the same problem, but mine leaked every time. I have a kenmore ultra wash dishwasher no. 665.15762. I took the bottom rotating sprayer off and found that the plastic piece under the sprayer had a few loose screws and the rubber gasket, under that piece, had blown out at the corner facing the overfill protection float. I took out all the screws and re-mounted the gasket in place and put all the screws back and tightened them. It solved the problem. I hope that this helps others.
