Hi Francis. Remove the staples from the Arrow P22. Place a piece of wood (rod) about a quarter of an inch thick between the arms of the stapler just behind where the stapler is ejected and press down a couple of times until the jammed staple is dislodged. If the plunger is already jammed in the downward position then first pull it up and then push it down again. This procedure has worked for me on a variety of staplers over a period of very many years. Good luck!!

Hi Brenda, You may be using the wrong staples. Daft though it sounds, all you need is 30 thousandths of an inch on any of 5 different sides and that'll be enough to stop them moving freely down the magazine. Somewhere on the tool or in the brochure it will tell you the staple reference. Use that and you'll be fine..... Leigh Co Limited

I have used a small screwdriver to pull out staples but occasionally had to disassemble to gain access - I think there may be just one screw to remove bottom piece

Hi Stephen, Of course the manual states to use their staples for best results. However it does at least state it is designed for a wide variety. Most hardware stores have a range of staples to choose from. Home Depot, Harbor Freight, Lowes etc. Try a chisel point this may help penetrate the wood deep enough. All staples are not made the same. So again trial and error may be the quickest route. Fortunately you can purchase small boxes for your testing. The manual for this stapler is here: (Page 2 talks about the staples to use.) It will probably have a release at the bottom rear of the stapler. Just push the release in and down to release the rod/spring assembly (the release catch may be silver in color). Drop in a stick of staples the reinsert the rod/spring and reengage the release.

They sell for less then $25 on Amazon, consider buying a new one and keep the old for parts.

Just buy a new one, they are less then $15.00 or search for the manual.

Well, it might sound too easy, but did you check for jambed staples. I also lightly oil all mine. Sometimes the actual plunger that drives the staple will break internally.

Buu a different brand or model this one is junk and should be taken off the shelf

Try weather strippin around any possible gap or hot glue gun might also help
