The most common failure in any electric oven is the heating element.

I managed to resolve that problem. When you have BOTH F53 and F03 error codes, it's not a sensor fault (although F03 is the big cavity sensor and F53 is the top one)... it's a faulty capacitor trouble. On the main board there are 4 electrolytic capacitors, just replace all of them and you're ok again. It's quite simple and very cheap. :-)

There is no thermal fuse there is a thermostat but you are asking for information about what model?
The best thing to do is A, check you have power to the unit
B, If so then see if you can get to the connections on the back of the thermostat and check it is working as it will be a positive in to the stat and out but I would guess it is your element that has gone, look around the element power off, and if you see any pin holes it is US,

We had the same problem when our cleaner rubbed off the markings. Ariston "customer services" were very unhelpful (the model is now so old they don't offer any replacement facias for it) but managed to get replacement stickers from Mark at They come with a diagram for all four dials showing where they should go and are very easy to apply. Would highly recommend.

Go to their web, download your model of oven.

The Model info should be inside the oven door, or under top burner panel.

As a general rule if you unplug from the mains power the solenoid that keeps the door locked will de energise and the door will be able to be opened but careful there could be plenty of water waiting to help wash your feet!

First of all, thank you very much for choosing FIXYA today for your online technical support needs.

I'm Joe, and I will be more than happy to assist you with your service request.

Although I was unable to locate an original copy of the User's Manual for your particular Ariston appliance, here is a link to a discussion forum which has a scanned copy of the instructions for that model in one of the responses:

To view the Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and blue highlighted section of text just above.

This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the scanned contents of the Owner's Manual. The post with the instructions is about halfway down that forum page. I will keep looking for an original copy of the entire manual and will post it here if I find it.

Please COMMENT back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

If you were satisfied with the service provided, could you please take a moment to leave a 5 STAR rating. Your feedback is very important and I truly appreciate your consideration.

BEFORE leaving a rating OTHER THAN 5 STARS or a negative TESTIMONIAL, please contact me using the ADD A COMMENT feature and I will immediately clear up any concerns or answer any additional questions that you might have until you are completely satisfied with the service provided. The FixYa rating system is a very important component of the Marketplace, and unfortunately once you post a rating or a testimonial to a solution, it cannot be changed at all later on.

Be sure to use the small blue ADD A COMMENT button located just below the text of this solution to leave any additional comments for me regarding this particular issue and I will respond right away.

I truly hope that was helpful to you.

Good luck and take care.
