Hi
Press and hold the two buttons with the casserole dish on (one is crossed out) and use + or - to change the time.
Hope that helps.

if i bought a single oven with a three wire cable coming out the back with no plug, which i know is meant to be hard wired, are you saying i could fit a plug to this and plug it into a normal 13amp socket, reason i ask i ahve an oven which has packed in and it plugs into the wall at the back, if i fitted a plug onto the cable from a single oven below 3kw then are you saying i can do this?

If you are not able to reset the timer from flashing display regardless of what combination of buttons you press, then I am afraid the only solution is to replace it, they are expensive.
Suggest you try pressing the first 2 button on the left, and the last button on the right at the same time if you have not already done so, this may solve the problem.

It sounds as though the thermostat is faulty, if you cannot control the heat, then I would suggest fitting a new thermostat.

Take off the back cover and check whether the terminals on the heating element are touching it. Normally caused by some earth leakage currents flowing from heating element to ground circuit.

I would suggest that the temp regulator is faulty, and needs to be replaced, there is little else it could be.
Hope this helps.

Temperature control with gas ovens is not an exact science. However the control should be better than you say.

Have you tried reducing the set temperature to compensate for the 'overshoot'. It may be worth a try.

If it is a fan assisted oven and the fan is working o/k, then you need to replace the oven element located at the rear of oven behind cover.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

The machine is made by Indesit and badged as an Ariston

On the inside of the cooker at the bottom of the door or the door frame there is normally a small rectangular plate with the machine model on it plus a serial number

If it is there then take a note of it and click on the link below.

http://www.indesitservice.co.uk/hs/pages/manual/manualSearch.do

This lists all of the user manuals fo Indesit cookers

Sorry but it is easier with a model number

Whilst Working? An explanation of what you were doing would be extremely helpful.

#1) If it sounds like metal on metal, chances are its METAL ON METAL.

#2) Its pretty obvious you didn't make graduate highschool, let me explain this as simple as possible so you don't hurt yourself trying to read it.

#3) Your fan (thing that blows) probably caught a wire (metal string), or was altered slightly and is now hitting a metal ventilator (sponge) which is installed near the fan on this particular model.
