I can't get water through my Cafe Retro machine
I ruined one Cafe Retro that way, but I managed to fix a second one, here is how: the worst scale tends to build near the exit filter. If poking holes in it with a needle does not work, you need to unscrew that filter.(1) turn the machine upside down (2) remove the bottom panel by unscrewing the feet (3) remove the central bolt that hold the filter using a special 'snake eyes' 2-pin screwdriver. Since it is hard to find and expensive I made one myself by filing an old screwdriver. I had to use extreme force to loosen the bolt (I enlarged the holes using a small drill, and used a spanner to get more leverage on the screwdriver). (3) once the bolt comes off, remove the dirt that built underneath, and thoroughly clean the filter holes. I used white vinegar and a toothbrush. (4) reassemble the device and run a commercial descaler through it. It's a great machine but poorly designed with respect to scale buildup, now I descale it very often.
I have an Ariete coffee machine the steamer takes
if the steamer is not been in use for a ling time is possible tha the valve got stuck. You can try to open and close the steam handle repeating that very often while steam get out. if it does not work try to make a cicle of water mixed with salt, just start the coffe maker, warm up and start WITHOUT COFFEE, you repeat that several time to obtain clean water from the fiter, warm up for steam function and start to open-close the steam handle on the right of the coffee maker body. If that doese not helps you must change or repair the rubinet-valve of steamer, apply to assistence.
I have an Ariete Retro Coffee machine that is not filtering out the coffee grains properly when making a cup of coffee...
I notice that the filter get obcluse very easily, try to clean it in hot flush water and in the meantime use your hand palm with a push-and-pull movement over the edge of the filter, doing so you will see a spray of water coming out from the central little hole situated on the bottom of the filter, is the problem persist put ONLY THE FILTER, and not the handle into the dish washer, then it supposed to work. In certain case it is possible than the problem remain, try as a last chance to put some salt into the filter and thight the handle into the coffee machine, warm up and start the pump(do not put coffee, only salt) it works!
Pump making a noise
...may be water is not pumping into the pump and it works empty causing noise...do water comes out when it is on?
How to remove handle or shank from
just pull the handle from right to left, if is tight just hit gently from right side of the handle. to detache the filter if it is stuck just put the handle under hot flush water and gently try to turn it until it comes out.( there are two inserting tips that match with the handle) if it is very stuck, usually because of the coffe that "glue the filter to the handle body try to pull the filter gently off the handle body using a no-sharp tool ( spoon handle tip for example)
