These devices are unfortunately made cheaply these days. If it is fairly new, say within 6 months, contact the manufacturers customer support line (found on documents or their website) and they often just ship you a replacement. Otherwise, if the water is not coming out and spilling over, make sure that the release in the brew basket is opening when the pot is placed under it. Some of them stick and then the coffee overflows.

Use a coffee pot cleaning additive (used to descale irons too) and run it through the brewing cycle.. flush it well afterwards with the brew cycle 2X more and it should be fine. Mineral deposits from hard water have clogged the line. Otherwise, get a new coffee maker as the valve in completely closed with mineral deposits and there is no way to open it to remove them and reseal it. An under sink water filter to remove hardness will prevent this from happening again.

I own a Black & Decker (Applica) 12-cup Smartbrew Coffee Maker DCM2000 (see link). Mine started leaking water out of the bottom when brewing. I was able to remove the non-security screws and pry open the plastic bottom to see what the problem was. Replacing a silicone tube - easy. Getting the bottom completely open... not so much. In order to get the bottom completely off, I used a bolt cutter on the security screw. I was able to buy a length of the following hose (from ebay): Silicone Tubing - High Temperature rated AND Food Grade 3/8" Inside diameter x 1/2" outer diameter It's important to get the inside diameter correct, or the hose will not grip tight enough to stay in place/form a seal. I measured the original to get the appropriate I.D. The hose must also 100% silicone, food grade, and rated for high temperatures. Beer stores and brewing supply companies typically carry this kind of hose. I got mine from ebay. I cut the silicone hose to the proper length with a utility knife and slid it over the two receptacle ends - one end of the metal "U" & the round plastic socket leading into the water reservoir. I put the bottom back on, attaching the regular Phillips screws. I've had leak-free operation ever since. The hose cost me a bit more than expected, because I couldn't get it locally and shipping costs in/to Canada are a complete rip-off - but it was still a fraction of the cost of a brand new coffee maker.

It's a drain p[roblem and/or the part that drains into the caraffe is not aligned properly. Also check the hold that the coffee should be going into and make sure it doesn't have build-up blocking it.

There is a momentary contact switch that is probably. You gran get one at the mfr. or maybe locally. When you press the brew button, you should hearing it engage . That would be a sound and a click like something has connected. If there is no sound, then your momentary contact switch is bad. Not too expensive. Probably a 5-10 minute job.

They make a thousand models. It sounds like the heating element has failed. They don't tell you this when you buy them, but I have been fighting these types of machines for the 9 years before I retired. One place had 2 machines and another has 6.
