There's a "menu" button somewhere on the monitor, and you might look for a different "power save" or "sleep" setting to change its behavior.

Is there a floppy disk in the A: drive? That "port" is usually reserved for a floppy disk, either 3.5 or 5.25in. You probably need to disable the floppy drive in the BIOS.

Yes, resolution settings can be a pain, but the good news is you know how and where to change the settings.

After years of dealing with this same problem I pay no attention to what Windows recommend, but instead try many different settings each time I do a new Windows install.

And as you know, you can also change Icon sizes and text size too... So I just pick the resolution that works best and looks best 'to me'.

If you use Chrome you are in luck for Google fonts...

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More .
  3. Next to "Zoom," choose the zoom options you want: Make everything larger: Click Zoom in . Make everything smaller: Click Zoom out . Use full-screen mode: Click Full screen.
Lots of luck with other Browsers though.

if you have a plug in VGA card remove it and connect the monitor to the computer plug in
if the monitor is good , replace the vga card
next make sure that all files, folders and data is backed up on an external hard drive
on start up , when you get the desk top screen up
in the search bar under the list of programs , type in-- chkdsk and click on it when it comes up just above where you typed in
that will energize the self check of the computer , hard drive files and folders and everything on the hard drive
be prepared for it to take around 6 hours for the check as it checks and repairs any faults found for every file and folder and there could be over 3 million spaces to check
you will get a report and if there is a hard drive problem , you will get such a message

Did you go into the BIOS and set it to recognize the USB Keyboard after you reset the BIOS? Is windows not noticing it or the BIOS. You stated that it recognized the USB keyboard and then said that it did not.
What does all of this mean? USB keyboard does not activate "del" setup.

If it does not work, it is because you reset the BIOS and did not change the settings back for the USB keyboard.

I hope that I fixed your problem.

Plastic explosives! U have a mess on your hands. I would save any and all files from the hard drive, do diagnostics on drive to make sure it is good, and if so, then just reload the OS and take it from there.
