I just had this same problem. My andis Masters where working and they started making a loud sound and the blades stopped working. The Problem was there wasn't enough power. I used a screw driver and turn the power adjusting screw to the Right with a flat head screw driver.the sound got louder but after I keep turn it the blades started moving again and the blades got quiet again. Tada a Quick Fix.
Possible that the blades are clogged with hair or dirt and the motor is jammed . Use the fine brush that had come along with the shaver to clean and free the blades, Use some light oil on the blades to free any signs of dirt or rust on the blade set.
After shaving it is important to clean and keep the blades dry.
This Andis model is not very good for shaving,I purchase one before didn't do the job. I recommend The Andis GTO you can have it sharpen and adjusted to shave. check out www.mannys-sharpening.com I had purchase my Andis T-outliner service and adjust for shaving. The good thing about manny's sharpening when you purchase Andis T-Outliner he will ask you how would you like your trimmer set at' for line ups or Fade cuts or Shaving set. he resharpen the blade and make sure the trimmer is adjust power and set blade and trimmer too your request. You may pay a little more but it's worth it. Oh one more thing about his service and warranty after 3 month he gives you a free sharpening and service on the Andis trimmer you purchase from him. You only paid for return shipping. I try his service and this guy is good in sharpening and repair.
I hope this was help for Tim
How long have you had your clippers and what brand are they? Is there a little side button that looks to have a **** in it where you could place a flathead screwdriver? If so, take a flathead and turn it right or left while your clippers are on and see what happens. It may be very well the your clippers are too old and the motor is bad or you may have to take them apart and give them a good cleaning. Always use 3-1 oil.

The stationary blades are held on by a couple of screws. Loosening these screws will allow some lateral movement of the blades. Adjust the blades till the proper alignment is restored. Just like scissors, there must be gaps between the moving and stationary blades at one point, then the moving blades close the gaps which cut the hair.
