Amcor Dehumidifiers - Page 2 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
Where, in the UK, can I obtain Amcor replacement parts?
the thermal break is there for a reason, the motor has overheated, if this was due to a towel or other item covering the unit great remove the the obstruction and replace the thermal break. however the major cause is that the bearings have dried up on the motor and it has started to seize, which means replacement.
Amcor Dehumidifer TC120 - Circuit Board Required
It is not your relay. Mine did the same and the problem is the resistor that drive it goes short so the relay clatters as the circuit is trying to control it. The actual fault is the 78p153sp driver. You can change the transistor, a pnp will do the trick but the driver is dead. I'm currently looking for this IC and they're hard to find, cheap Chinese tat. So instead I'll likely fit a temp sensor that detects when the cooling coils reach about 4deg and switch the fridge off because shorting the relay will just cause the cooling to stay on and you'll get ice, it needs to cool, collect moisture, switch off, warm up and dump the moisture...crude but it works. This unit is worth saving.

Amcor des 80 not heating
I've had my DES80 pack in twice with the same symptoms. (I was using it 24/7 for about 8 years, so that was pretty good going I reckon!). First failure was a fractured heating element termination - easily repaired at no cost. Second time was the thermal fuse on the same sub- assembly - only pence to fix. The problem is just how far you have to tear it down to get to this assembly, but you need no more than a long cross- point screwdriver, and some patience. I have photos of all the stages of disassembly & reassembly, just Email me
