Select in the main menu to go from over the air to cable channels and you should be fine.

Does it have a door or is it an open end where one can slide the dvd in (kind of like a car cd player). Either way you will need a card. Door method: slide card in over top and try to maneuver dvd to original spot, try eject in-between tries. Open end method: like car cd players or Sony's PS3 system then you will need to slid card into drive above dvd/game/cd and press pressure on top of disk and the automatic rollers should catch the disk.

you can see in the menu the video support read by the player. also in the front panel of the unit their is a tag what format can accept like divx or mpeg etc.

the two are usually not related---text is a mode for either captions or a black box on the screen and I presume you mean dtv not tvt.

check for a dry joints at the inverter board for the screen back light, which may have loose contact.

We are not dealing with analog TV signals any longer and so the operation of these display devices are more complicated.If other channels are good then check the signal strength of the channel you are having trouble with as all these signals are now digital streams and they take time to sync up and the buffers to be loaded.

Just make an auto tune function.

Check the power outlet. Try connecting it to a different power outlet. Look for any jammed buttons on the remote. If the problem persists, this might need attention by a qualified service technician.

you most likely have either a dirty or a BAD optical pickup in the DVD player.

Digital processor section and T'Con board should be suspected.

Check mute on dvd player and tv, also check audio conectons usually a red and white RCA plug.

You will need to see if the TV is set for the proper type of broadcast system (in the USA that is the NTSC standard) in the menu and that the antenna is giving a good strong signal.

you can try contacting the manufacture of the remote control and model and order one online or you can take your old one if it is still repairable and get it fixed at a tv or a electrical outlet but you will be able to get one online if you have a problem locating then try google or ebay and if that dont work you can often get a multi function remote control from many electrical outlets and reprogram the new one to set up with your dvd player some supermarkets even sell these multi function remote controls

The optical lens of your cd is already weak cleaning it or replacing a new optical lens may fix the problem,In cleaning the optical lens you should be very careful first unplug your unit then remove the cover of your cd player then you will see the optical lens try to wipe it gently using a cotton buds but be very careful not to touch the optical lens.

9,7,3,5 in DVD mode then press 0. Worked for me!
