Alba Televison & Video - Answered Questions & Fixed Issues
Why does my TV keep turning off while I'm trying to return it
There could be a number of reasons why your Alba TV is turning off after just a few seconds. Some common causes include:
- Power supply issues: If the power supply to the TV is not stable, it can cause the TV to turn off. Check if there are any loose connections or faulty cables.
- Overheating: If the TV is overheating, it can shut off to protect itself. Ensure that the vents and fan are clear of any obstructions and the TV is not in a location that is too hot.
- Faulty remote: Sometimes, a faulty remote can cause the TV to turn off by itself. Try removing the batteries from the remote and see if the issue persists.
- Faulty hardware: If the TV's hardware is faulty, it can cause the TV to turn off. This could be due to a number of reasons, such as a defective power supply or a malfunctioning circuit board.
If none of these solutions work, it's possible that the TV is defective and needs to be returned for a replacement or repair.
How can I connect a playstation 2 to an Alba TV?
No, it you don't have Composite Video connections, you can't. Alba is not a good make, it is a bargain basement brand from the 70s and 80s. Check Facebook Marketplace for something a bit more modern and HD.
Box is not detecting channels
Thanks for the answers and explanations. I'm going to purchase a Linux STB on
switchonshop and now I'm trying to figure out all the things concerning TV boxes, applications, installation. It's not that difficult as far as I understand but still I have to pay attention to many aspects.
Can I play a movie
Unless stated otherwise, either on the player itself, or in the instruction manual, no. You would need to convert the .avi file to DVD compliant format in order to play it. ConvertXtoDVD can do this and can give you the option of burning the converted result directly to DVD-R. It is a shareware program.
Many DVD players can handle .divx files on a CD-R, but takes a while to read the contents before playing them, then there are .mp3 and .jpeg which is a fairly common file format, playable almost anywhere. It is unlikely or extremely rare that any standalone DVD player or similar external device can play .avi raw data files successfully.
There are heaps of video conversion software programs available.
