Normally the higher the number selected on the rotary knob, the colder the frezer will go, assuming there is not a problem with the compressor or coolant pressure.
Pungent smells inside can usually be removed with EITHER Chlorine Bleach OR Hydrogen Peroxide, but NOT together. Or Tilex is great for mold.
Also pull the whole thing out and look for deceased rodents or food that has been dropped behind it.

Blinking or flashing is normally indicative that you fridge is more modern and has an LED Light instead of a standard incandescent screw-in bulb. If that is the case, the whole LED light and Module needs replacing.

Hi, the defrost element of our defy double door fridge is tripping our electricity. Are there any certified defy technicians in the garden route, specifically the George, Sedgefield area?

For about a month. Just before Christmas. We have had an appliance technician here and he said it's probably 99% the defrost element. He checked everything else, the plug the gas etc. Those were all in order.
It needs refrigerant gas, there isn't enough pressure to cool the whole refrigerant evaporator plate when the liquid gas vaporises to gaseous gas. You need a service call.
Defrosting them in what, the fridge, the microwave?
If in the fridge, just put them in the fridge for 48 hours. Or in winter you can leave them on your worktop for 8 hours. Or, just drop them into a sink of warm water for 2 hours and cook straight way.
Defrosting by weight and measurement would depend on where you live?

This sounds like a split system AC / Heat Pump. If so the actuator motor needs replacing. I have the same issue, but mine is stuck closed.

Does the rest of you home have orange looking water? the filter has most likely failed and need replacing. When you buy a replacement buy 2 and have a backup on hand.
