Hi,

With the door left open moisture would get into the unit behind the walls and into the duct work. The only way to fix this right is to unload it and let it unthaw for a day or so open. Once it is all defrosted and restarted it should be fine again.

Hi Arctis frost free freezer, almost 4 years

Hi,
As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

My AEG Arctis freezer is not freezing at the

The freezer is probably in need of defrosting. This usually occurs when the freezer has been over packed. It needs to be able to ahve air flow through it, there are holes in the back of the freezer and a defrosting element at the top and they need to be clear in order to keep it frost free. It happend to me and we called an engineer out. solved it by using hair dryer to defrost it.

I have an AEG Fridge/freezer..the fridge section

I am not familiar with your unit but It sounds like you may have more problems then you think. The freezer and refrigerator are probably on the same compressor so a fuse shouldn't be involved unless the light doesn't come on. If that is the case you have a tripped breaker or blown fuse in your house panel. Be sure the freezer is actually still working, they warm up much slower then the refrigerator. Put a thermometer inside close it and check every few hours for a few days. It will go up and down, this is normal but it should stay at least -10 or lower (guess on this unit). Check to see if the compressor is operating. Is it possible somebody bumped the thermostat while putting something in the unit?

Hope this helps as a starting point. Find a local source of dry ice in case the freezer fails, this will hold it for a while saving your food giving you time to effect a repair.

The auto defrost alarm has been going off for 30

When the automatic defrost system quits working frost builds up on the coils inside the freezer section and impedes airflow to the refrigerated section.
If this is the case the freezer section will begin to warm also.
You may end up having to replace a defrost timer.

-----------------
as per the problem which you mentioned there are two possibilities for this problem
i will explain
1) either the evaporator coil in the unit is the problem
or the 2) the defrost timer is faulty.
as per you the defrost timer is working. but that not clears that timer is working and in good condition. the timer should work on proper timing and off at proper timing .if the timer becomes short it will remain on for more then required and will remain off when actually required.
the evaporator coils never go bad or faulty mostly it only stops working if the over load of ice frost gets collected in between the coil and the evaporator fan due to things the coil actually does not get required hot and this makes freezer bit more cold and refrigerator very low cooling or may be hot. also the other air ventilations gets blocked due to evaporator coils stop working .to resolve this issue the only best option is to empty the fridge/freezer unit and unplug the unit from main power out let keep the door open of the unit and leave it for 24 hours this melts all the collected ice in the coil as well as in the air ventilation area. after that clean the inner area of unit with a dry cloth and then plug in the connection and turn the unit ON keeping the temperature at normal settings. then check out after two hours if the unit works proper the evaporator coil was the fault and that got cleared from the unit by defrosting .but if the proper is same as before after two hours when you check then its defrost timer faulty in the unit
now i will explain what is defrost timer .the defrost timer is the part which controls the cooling and defrosting in refrigerator .it actually spins as the coldness in the unit. after the temperature reaches to certain coolness it spins back wards and defrosts .if the defrost timer is faulty it will not spin properly and all cooling and defrosting system of the unit will get misaligned. if the timer gets faulty the cooling will reach till over frost and then the fan the coils in the unit will get blocked due to ice built-up and over current will be exerted by the unit to melt that ice. and in this melting ice procedure without defrost timer the unit stops completely .it can effect any section lower or upper or may be both. so the defrost timer at present needs replacement. its like a mini plastic box . color is mostly black or white or creamish . the cost of timer is near to $40.you can get it from
www.repairclinic.com
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

AEG Arctis, type FN 18032, model75238-GA

Just fixed a similar model from Electrolux. It's not the fan that was faulty, but its transformer on the pcb. The fan has its own pcb, a small one on the left side and is controlled via 230V from the main board. It's easy to remove, turn around and measure.

Temperature has dropped from a normal 18 degrees

The only thing that will make it cool to low is a thermostat. They wear out and get out of calibration. Check to be sure the temp sensor from the thermostat is tight on the mount. Its the little tube that connects to the evaporator that makes the thermostat work.

Upright freezer not cooling adequately

Go to there website and see if you can find your model. You can also contact them from there.
http://www.aeg-electrolux.co.uk/node145.asp?CategoryID=2595

Also get yourself a stand alone fridge and freezer thermometer - leave it in for an hour -that will establish what the temperature really is which will help in diagnosing the cause.

Also trying unplugging it for 15 minutes so the display board loses power - then plug it back in - sometimes that will reset it.

Alarm

the alarm is there to warn you that the freezers not up to set tempature.. The reason as I see what you wrote would be a stuck or burnt out auto defrost timer motor. or the units got a leak in the refrigerant line??? good luck

Norfrost C6AEW Chest Freezer. Wiring help please.

Question edited for clarity and add CAPS. It seems to be a common occurrence on that model due to bad design. https://www.fixya.com/support/t17110008-norfrost_c6aew_chest_freezer_compressor Norfrost is owned by Ebac. Contact their customer service. https://www.johnogroat-journal.co.uk/news/caithness-freezer-name-lives-on-in-england-170710/ https://www.ebac.com/support/customer-service Another way would be to study the wiring as it is pretty standard. The video may help. https://www.google.com/search?q=freezer+wiring+diagram You may be able to freeze this video to note the wiring, although this only shows the thermostat wiring and is a bit fuzzy. Also an refrigeration appliance technician would know the wiring by heart and take 20 minutes maximum to work it out.
