obtain a black belt in karate you must demonstrate your skills by sparring with
an opponent. You must also be able to
demonstrate your aptitude to perform certain movements and stances. Some may also require you to have spent a
certain amount of time at the previous level.

Each
level requires a minimum amount of time learning and training before advancing
to the next level. It can be determined
either by number of months/years or by hours spent. Some advancements may require demonstrations
