you may have a faulty key, short in the key the keyboard may need to be serviced clean of all oil, dust, and dirt, try blowing some air through the keyboard. and make sure you have new batteries in each of the devices. than check the connections, if you have usb wireless with a transmitter you need to sync both the mouse and keyboard . the transmitter should be in the line of sight with each device ot right underneath the monitor good spot. by pushing the color button on the bottom of each and the transmitter at the same time so that they will communicate with each other. than go into control panel open folders keyboard and mouse, open each folder check all boxes that apply to you needs in subject and reboot computer if all fails buy a new keyboard thank you rod

It isn't easy to figure out how to open the bsttery compartment as there are no clues in the manual or on the outside of the mouse. The cover is the entire top side of the mouse behind the buttons, After many false starts, I found that if I get a thumb nail in the crack behind a button near the center and pull (push) straight back, it will pop off. Either side works.

No idea which program you are talking about, but I would try Ctrl-S for starters...
