I'm not familiar with the 4286 but I have used the VM101 from myvirtualmonitoring.com before. It attaches to the panel and uses your internet connection to transmit alarm signals, send you text and email messages when events happen, and let you arm and disarm the system from a iphone or android. It may be a better solution for you.

This thing can't be reset,must have the original codes to used the system.Cancel the monitored service,when u all set to move in or sale it.Have to put in a new alarm system.

FC is for faliure to communicate. Need to check systems connection to monitoring station. Did anyone work on your phone line(s) or did you change your phone company or service? GL.

If it is desplaying zone 18 then something is programmed in. It could be a wireless remote (single button panic maybe) GL.

That beeping is controled in installer level programming. If you disable it you will disable all other beeps as well. You will not hear chime entry/or exit. If someone breaks in you will not know till siren goes on, if you have one. GL.

A common problem that I see with customers and these remotes is that they dont hold the buttons down long enough. It should not be like a tap, more like a press and hold for about 2sec. GL

First thing to do is to reset. Merely by taking out the battery for 1hour, then put back again then power up again.The purposed of taking out the battery is to dissipated the stored current in the memory IC that control the unit to hang up, so it will gone. Feel free to ask whatever the results.

Do you have any other 5816 door / window sensor in the house or is this one on the garage the only one?

I get a feeling the garage door vibrates with wind and might be momentarily opening the reed switch. Can you check the firmness of the door at the point the switch is located.

Also generally wireless is prone to signal break especially if other devices at similar frequencies are used, eg. chord less phone, wireless routers etc.

Hard to put a finger on your observation. Try out the 5816 with a window on the same level as the control panel and see if similar false triggers take place.

I assume that you do not have an alarm code to turn the system off.Contact the Professor and he can walk you through a defaulting of the alarmpanel.

You need to update your compass software. Go to Honeywell website and they have compass update patches.
