Am I getting high speed thru my actiontec gt704wg
It depends on your DSL connection- technically anything above 56k is "high-speed internet"- if you are concerned about the speeds you are getting, contact Verizon tech support for further assistance- you could have an issue with your connection, and they would be the ones able to setup for a technician to come out/ have the maintenance office repair the connection I’m happy to help further over the phone at

Hi I want to know
Are you on Consumer Verizon DSL? Fair warning if you are using Business Static- the Actiontec is a poor choice due to issues working on a static IP circuit. - I'd use a 6110 and a third party router! However, by default, the only thing you would need to do to setup the modem is go through the activation page when you plug the modem in. If you require an user name and password, it would set that up. Bar any problems, you can contact Verizon technical support since the Actiontec Gateway is fully supported. How do i bridge my
Version: GT784WN-VZ-1.1.6
If this is a Verizon router/modem that you are trying to connect your own router to in order to use it as the DHCP device with your home network, you will need to contact Verizon technical support and they will perform the bridging operation for you. You cannot do it yourself with many of these devices.

My DSL Modem is unable to connect to the internet.
Wireless capable modems are touchy, Put tinfoil over your splice connectors as they leak signals that totally confuse your modem. Never leave any bare wires, I tinfoil the entire modem to prevent the neighbors from hacking me. I don't use wireless, only CAT5 ethernet cable.
Verizon GT704WG DSL Modem wants me to install software
If my memory serves me, I didn't install the software for my Actiontec modem/router combo. I call Verizon and told them I refused to install the software and they helped step me through getting rid of this garbage. You should never have to install software to get a modem or router to work as any software the comes with it, is simply used to provide easier configuration.
Since I couldn't find anything about bypassing this software, I would suggest contacting Verizon directly. Their technical support should be able to assist you.

How i can get myusername and password
Most Actiontec Modems and Routers DO NOT have a default login. The exceptions are the Actiontec Modems and Routers made and branded for a specific Internet Service Providers (ISP). Some ISP's require a default user name and password. These Modems and Routers have a sticker on the bottom of the device with the default User name and Password printed on them.

Passkey
This is a DSL router. This would normally be connected to your DSL provider. If you are only looking for your router password. The default one is username: adminpassword: [leave blank]If the default one has been changed, then you would need to reset the router. press and hold the reset button to do this.DO NOT RESET YOUR ROUTER IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF WHICH PASSKEY YOU NEED.If you need the password of your DSL connection, then you can find this on the welcome letter they gave you. if yo no longer have access to this, then contact your DSL service contact support and they will provide you with your missing information.
