check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red-white-green-black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems also make sure the computers Ram and Cmos battery are securely seatedif this fails to fix the problem you might have to install a usb 2 or 3 card they are cheap and easy to install you can buy these on Ebay very cheap hope this helps
Hi, I cannot find my
The scary part is that you TRIED AN OTHER POWER SUPPLY was it the same VOLTAGE??? aws it the same AMPERAGE/WATTS??? was it the same POLARITY??? You could have dammaged the device if you did not respect the power ratings... IT'S NOT JUST A MATER OF PLUGING IN WHATEVER FITTS... You can buy a UNIVERSAL POWER SYPPLY but it has to meet the same VOLTAGE, AMPERS (WATTS), the same POLARITY (tip POSITIVE or tip NEGATIVE) etc... hopfully if the device is not dammaged, bring the storage device to a good electronic store and ask for a equivallant replacement meeting the EXACT power ratings on the device... if it works JUST PRAY GOD THAT YOU'LL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN, if it don't than you've busted the unit, DONT PANNIC you can still recover what ever is on the drive by taking it out of the enclosure and connecting it to a desk top PC via a SATA port and recover the DATA, as for the rest (USB CONTROLLER) than throw it away in the garbage...
GOOD LUCK!!!!
My computer does not recognize the hard drive.

I have the 250gig Acomdata
You can try opening it and using the drive inside the box in your machine. It may be the box is busted, not the drive.
The drive lights up blue, computer won't
I think the computer installed the wrong driver for it automatically ..get into the device manager ..(right click on computer /choose properties/hardware /device manager ..) Look for it in the list ..it may be with a wrong description ..and wrong driver..In this case will be listed in yellow with a ! sign on i t..
Click right on it ..and after that uninstall ..
Do not let the computer install it auto ...refresh the list by clicking right on the device category ..and choose scan for new hardware ..
When it is found ..the computer will try to auto install it ...cancel the operation ..and insert its driver disk ..than click right on it ..and choose update driver..and next ..It will start an installation wizard ..and you will have to deny the auto installing and choose a location manually ..Point it to the disk drive ..and try to install it ..
If it is still makes the same ..try to see4 if it is installing itself auto in another computer..This way you will know for sure it is not it's fault ..but a computer operation system error ..
In this case try to change the port or reinstall the operation system ..cause something may be missing in it and cause the issue ..
let me know what you 've done ..and how it is behaving ..

one bad lead will end with a computer error a computer needs its connections continue its

even something as small as an electrical extension or a

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will

type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical
extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives
need to have current go through make sure these drives are working also it
could be a dirty computer clean all of the dust from your computer you could
use a vacuum cleaner but whatever you use make absolutely sure there is no
moisture gets to anything in your computer and before you touch anything be
sure to wear an earth strap hope this

Hi there,
I believe that the demo will only recover 54kb because it only a demo.after that it may ask you to purchase the real active file recovery software.
if in doubt it would be a good idea to take down to a IT specialist and get done properly.A few dollars is worth spending on the recovery of lost Data, aye??

Hello,
it is a known issue that these particular drives sometimes don't get recognized by the Operating System, after coming out of Sleep, Stand By, or Hibernation.
Simply try to disconnect and reconnect the drive again in the USB port,
if this doesn't work then,
Disconnect it from the USB and connect it to the Firewire.
if this doesn't work then,
Restart the computer.
It should solve the problem.
