You got a conflict on your DNS protocol you need to go into your 'command prompt' settings (right click start and click on command prompt ) and enter 'clear DNS' and see if that works.

Go into the device manager and remove the camera. Then scan for hardware changes. It will find the camera and load the required drivers. If, for some reason, it finds the camera but not the drivers, go to the Acer webpage for your laptop and download the drivers. When you install them, just point to that file. Semper Fi, Z

there is a similar post (ACER x223w monitor) who describes somewhat the same issue. Do you have some child safety feature enabled?

Usually in my experience most laptop keyboards are disposable. I have 2 suggestions for you. 1. buy a new same brand keyboard. 2. remove the flex connector, then use an external usb keyboard, or a bluetooth wireless keyboard. hope it helps your problem.

If the computer doesn't power on what-so-ever, it may be your power ribbon. I have the same issue with my Dell Inspiron 15. The power ribbon on your motherboard connects to the power button on your laptop which obviously turns on your computer. That may have been damaged. I suggest taking apart your computer and trying to find out the issue from the inside. (Or, if you don't know how turn it in to a technician.)

I have actually experienced this before and surprisingly, it turned out to be a hardware fault with my built-in wireless device. I had to resort eventually to one of those USB plug-in wifi dongles. They cost less than ten bucks, and if you don't need the range, come in "nano" sizes that protrude less than half an inch when installed. Do disable the internal wifi device, either in device manager or better still, in the bios if using this solution.

If you have a wired mouse around, you can plug that in, and use it to navigate to the control panel. In Mouse settings, you can re-enable touchpad. Alternatively, some of the Travelmates have a keyboard shortcut to enable touchpad, Function-F7. I hope one of these solutions helps!

Best thing to do would be buy a DVD+RW DRIVE that is external and runs of a USB cable that plugs into your laptop They are not expensive you just need to treat them with care so that they dont get dropped or damaged . all that comes to mind are codecs. the phone may well be using codecs not on your laptop, I would suggest downloading and installing some free codecs packs.. good luck

The above solution provider is wrong saying there is no other solutionThe following solution is what I have done practially and it worksYou will need to open the laptop, remove the keyboard and underneath their is a covering. Remove the covering and you will see rtc battery and a dip switch with four white buttons that can be positioned to on and off. First disconnect the rtc battery from the motherboard and then move the third button to the on position. Power on and the password will be removed. Power off the laptop. Reconnect the rtc battery and slide the third dip switch button back to the original position. as you say you have not tried a different battery or power supply then may be thats what you need to do just to make sure thats not what it could be.

If all fails you could try setting it back to factory!

If nothing is happening with a good battery or a good power adapter you have a serious issue. Could be bad mo bo, corrupt cmos, bad hard drive, bad peripheral, . Remove drive and plug into another known working computer as slave and see if it works and perform diagnostics on it. If it checks out at least you have your files and data . But the rest of the unit ................................
