sure the Wii's analog composite video output is enabled. Try resetting the Wii to factory defaults. this will default to enable the composite video output. You can find the procedure in the Wii manual

Check your wii adaptor, In normal conditions the wii adaptor provides the output 12volt. and indicator red light is ON. You can test the output using multimeter or a 12volt lamp. hopefully this help.
