VW Passat VR6 is overheating, upper hose is hot, lower hose is cool, fluid is not leaking out. What do you recommend? Thermostat is most likely. Try that first, then my next choice would be water pump

passat is overflowing collant put not overheating when i stop driving any VW group car that has the rad drained MUST be vented of air when at operating temp,undo the top heater hose when hot and vent.

my 2001 VW PASSAT 1.8T are overheating. there are also a oil risidue in the water bottle no water in the oil Its big problem your vw engine head gasket is faulty !!! It must be changed !!!

I changed my water pump, timing belt and fan clutch on my 1999 VW passat but its still overheating, Any ideas? replace thermostate

vw passat check engine light . check engine light comes on. digital says car is overheating. temperature gauge reads normal. This car has 2 separate temp sensors, 1 for the computer and 1for the gauge

overheating vw my 2005 vw passat 1.8t just had a timing belt and water pump and thermostat and is still overheating...how do i fix this Check the condition of the radiator. It may be clogged.
