When resetting the plug for my air conditioner it clicks back off. Your A/C unit has a short inside or a motor locked up. If it trips immediately I would suspect a short.

AC Doesn't Power Up check for power at the receptacle. This model should have a test and reset button right on the plug. Hit test, and then Reset. Try this for starters.
