can you use hi 8 tape in the ES900 Analog Camcorder I believe this camcorder is 8mm only, so you won't be able to use a Hi8 tape with it. They will not play right in your camcorder.

rewound your cassette to the beginning before playing back your video. Also, be sure that the tape heads of your camcorder are clean. Use head-cleaning tapes regularly to keep your camera in top shape

Does theCanon UC-X2 camcorder play 8mm tapes? Hi-8 camcorders might be backward-compatible for playing tapes. I bought a model which could be switched between the two modes - Sony DCR-TRV355E.
