problem with piolt on a rheem 40 natural gas hot water heater we can light the piolit its stays lit until we turn the gas up then it goes out. sounds like you need a new gas control valve

i have a rheem fury model 22-40 thats gushing water out the top where the vent is whats the problem and solution leaking tank, probably rusted at weld. replacement is the only sure cure.
