Images blurry after sensor cleaning

Since I have for the first time cleaned the sensor on my Canon EOS 350D with all the right equipment (specific Sensor Swab, Eclipse product, PEC*pads) and according to the instructions, my images come out blurry. Did the cleaning leave a film that I should remove by cleaning again? Or could it be I damaged something, e.g. by pushing the sensor slightly out of place (though I was careful while cleaning)?

If the PEC pads are anything like the Zeiss or other lens cleaning papers I use for my eyeglasses and camera eyepieces (I try to avoid getting into a position where I'd have to clean my camera lenses), nothing ever seems to get clean the first or even second time. Almost invariably there's a multicolored haze that requires two, three or even more attempts to completely remove. This is partly due to skin oil on the eyeglasses and eyepiece but I've seen the same problem with multicoated filters on which a few raindrops or condensation had accumulated. It took two or three cleanings to remove the multicolored haze.

If you were careful while cleaning, I'd guess the cleaning solution just left a haze on the sensor then, and you might want to try again. Maybe use less solution this time. Hard to say without seeing an example.

It sounds like the lens isn't properly compatible with your camera which can be common on third party lenses. You can either set the lense and the camera to manual focus and focus the images by hand or sell the lens and find one that works in auto mode with your camera.

I'm not sure what you have done to obtain this screen but I'm including the instructions of how to do a camera reset which will bring the camera back to factory default settings.

Err 99

Hello hemantp. This error code in this model indicates that the lens electrical contacts are dirty or slightly oxidized. To clean them you will need a common pencil with a clean eraser on the end and a lens cloth.

Detach the lens from the camera and hold it so that the lens' gold contacts are pointing down. Lightly "erase" their exposed surfaces and then clean them with the lens cloth to remove any debris.

Do the same with the gold contacts inside the camera body. Although this is a wee bit more challenging, you can do it by holding the camera so that the lens opening points down. That way no debris will fall inside as you clean. Joe

Spot on images

Sorry, I read this as being for a Nikon N70 35mm SLR, but now see that it's a Canon EOS 350d.

In that case, you simply have a dirty image sensor. Either use a DIY sensor cleaning kit on the sensor (put the camera body into "sensor cleaning mode" to expose the sensor), or get a professional cleaning done. Professional is best for a one off, but as the problem will re-occur then there's no substitute for the experience you'll gain by doing it yourself. Until you get good at sensor cleaning, just clone out the artefacts using your preferred image editing software.

Canon Digital EOS camera black spot in images

This is dirt on the sensor. You can clean this yourself but first, get some knowledge. Google the words...cleaning a digital slr sensor. You will find sites that will show you step by step what to do and what supplies you will need. It may seem daunting at first, but believe me, it is incredibly easy once you start.

Canon rebel xt 1. image looks blury in eye

1. The viewfinder's diopter is probably out of focus (doesn't affect Auto Focus of photos). There's a dial and a +/- symbol next to the viewfinder. Turn the dial till you can see clearly through it. Alternative reason: The glass in the viewfinder is dirty/foggy. Use camera cleaning solution (a drop) on a cotton bud to clean it.

2. Malfunction needs Canon Service Centre to take a look at.

Dust on Canon 350D

I have some real experience of finding dusts and even moulds in-between the Low Pass Filter and the CMOS. So no matter how you "clean" the sensor "surface", the things inside are not affected. Very tedious you have to take out the CMOS and open up the Low Pass Filter to clean them. Nothing high-tech!
