Question about LaCie 2TB d2 Quadra Hard Disk v21

My Lacie Hard Drive only shows 9.99 mb capacity. and its a 2TB LaCie d2 Quadra v2.1 7200RPM U. It was just repaired by Lacie. Where's all the storage?

Please explain what you mean? When you plug in the drive it recognizes the drive but the size is showing to be extremely small?

It is possible that the disk space is not partitioned or the drive has crashed there by making the partition unreadable. Formatting the disc should resolve this problem. Just connect it to your computer and use this tool to format it.

Install it, launch the software, click on your external hard drive, click on the raw space on the drive, and click create partition. Choose the file system NTFS and click save changes. It will format it and you should be able to use your drive again. If you have any further questions please let me know, before you give me a bad rating, so that I can help you fix it.

I've had issues with the lacie mini power supply before. I can cause some wierd issues. Unfortunately, it isn't the cheapest thing to replace but that's probably the best place to look first.

You got a loose wire or faulty cable. Best take it down to the shop and git em to fix it. Should cost ya around $10

Hi there, I accidentally dropped my LaCie D2 Quadra 2T and now it rattles when I pick it up, move it or shift it around. It still seems to work fine and I've not noticed any change in performance
All I can say is the fall broke a part loose inside, take it part and look to see what that is or just live with it if it works ok.

Let's not take this as a solution so much as an intuition. I believe you may have run up against a limit of physical disk space that XP can administrate.

Contact Lacie support for a new power supply. I had the same problem, contacted Lacie support, they sent me a new power supply with power cord and all is well now.

Drive not showing up on my desktop
i'm not sure i can solve this problem--which started for me tonight as well with my lacie d2 quadra 500 gb--but i can share a possible explanation i've found online: apparently, they have lots of problems with their power supplies. see if the power adapter (the black brick) is making a hissing sound, or if there is a ticking sound coming from the drive itself. i have both these sounds. i am hoping all my data is safe and that my i.t dept. will be able to fix it with a new power supply on monday.

LaCie d2 Quadra drive... not showing up on PC after working on a MAC
You need to make sure the drive is formatted for the PC. The Mac will read and write to a FAT32 partition, but the PC cannot see a Mac formatted drive as you have seen.

The only problem is that there is a 32Gb limit per partition for FAT32 drives.

It's not ideal but it's the best you can do easily.
