Hi Judd,
First of all, thank you for posting your question here at Fixya.
If there's no
LED light at the front panel, this is an indication that the power supply of your unit is
dead. My first advice is to check the
AC source (outlet). Plug the TV's power cord's to a known working outlet to ensure that the fault not came from the AC source. If you are using a surge protector,
bypass it and directly plug the TV to the outlet.
If still the symptoms persist, I would advice you to check the
continuity of the internal glass fuse of the power supply board using a
multimeter set in resistance measurement. This board is where the power cord's directly connected. Sometimes, fuse fail due to power surge, voltage fluctuation, and/or aging, if this is the case, replacing with same current
(ampere) rating resolve the issue. Glass/ceramic fuse is widely available at electronics store.
However, if the new fuse blew again, this is an indication of more
serious problem. I would advice you to replaced the entire board rather than troubleshoot it because the cost is almost the same. Click
HERE to order online. Replacing this board is not technical and no soldering required. Unplug the unit from the outlet overnight, open the rear cover, familiarize all connectors from the power supply board and then disconnect them, unscrew the board, put in the new board and replaced the connectors and your done.
Hope I helped you.
Again, thank you so much!
Rating and feedback are highly appreciated!
Good luck and take care!
