99 mercury cougar replaced power window motor and switch window still does not work

That doesn't seem possible does it ?

You remove the inner door panel

You think the motor may be bad,so you unplug it,
knowing it is a DC Motor & can be hooked up either
way & will run in either direction
You put 12 volts to it. Doesn't work ,sounds bad,you
install a new one

Now you need power from the switch to run the new motor,
so you work on that
The switch can be disconnected & tested with an OHM Meter
& if worn,you replace that
You checked the fuse before you started & knew that wasn't an issue,
because all the other windows worked

So what did you mis ,short of having no wiring diagram, to make
things a lot easier?

What fuse controls driver side power window?

If the other window works fine then it is not your fuse. Chances are that your driver's window has an "auto down" feature. There is a relay inside the driver's side door that controls this feature. If the relay is bad then the window will not work. Solution 1) replace the relay. It cost about $50 from the dealer. Solution 2) remove the wire harness from the relay and "jumper" the plug to bypass the relay...this will allow you window to go down, without the "auto down" feature.

Drivers side window operates Intermittent.

My Cougar is a 99, but the relay on it is between the window motor and the mirror. Held on by 2 screws. It should click when you press the window button. When you take the foam off the door you can see it.

1993 Mercury Cougar power window, driver side, will not move

It could be one of about 3 things, the switch could be bad, the motor, or the window regulator. Sometimes you can hit the lower part of the door a couple of times wile holding the window switch to check the motor. I don't know how to check the switch but the cable on the regulator can brake and wrap around the motor not allowing it to run. The only way to check this is to take the door pannel off and see if the cable is broke.

99 cougar heater

I had this exact problem, it is probably your Blower Motor Resistor. It is located under/behind your glovebox, one screw holds it in. Not too expensive either. If that doesn't work it may be your blower motor. Good Luck!

99 Cougar neither cruise controll nor Drivr windw switch working

I had same issue with the Window actually both driver & passenger side. I ended up replacing the switches NOT CHEAP! there are about $70.00 each from Ford Dealer. I recommended that you try switching
out the motor's from one door to other & test this way to make sure it's not the motor. If it's the motor you'll be lucky as it way cheaper.
I tested & replaced the switch my self & its not hard at all very simple & easy. The only hard part is finding all crews to remove door trim. You should search ebay for parts with luck you my find cheaper.
