I need to create backup harddrive for old IBM cpu. It has a quantum fireball
#QML15000LC-A hardrive (15GB ) that has been set up as 10.1 GB
( IBM P/N 19K1552 ). I have a spare 15000LC-A drive , but can't find a way to convert it to the 10.1GB setup. Have tried ghosting the drive and fdisk.
Is there anyway to reformat drive to duplicate 19K1552 setup?
Quite honestly the best harddrive cloning/imaging software is EZgig.
I use it all the times on older machines and branded machines where they have a hidden recovery partition. If you run EZgig in advanced mode it will duplicate the original harddrive for you right down to setting up the partitions.
The best way to do it in your situation would be to load EZgig on to an XP machine and slave the original and then backup harddrives to the XP machine.
Here is a link to the Acronis True Image download (same software as EZgig) this is a fifteen day free trial.
