or you can test by using a modem that is 100% working for sure the real problem is on the line before contacting the service line provider

I can connect to the internet with my router, however periodically it will lose conection. This happens over and over again. Usually around 5-6 times during the lenghth of an average movie. I have tried...

While it's true interference could be causing the issue, there are several other possibilities.

More than likely it's not your router that's losing connection, but your actual internet connection itself. If you're using a cable or DSL service for you internet connection they may be temporarily dropping the connection. It's common in large communities, apartment complexes, etc for connections to "blink" in response to increased bandwidth loads. It's also possible that if your connection is DSL based that your telephone line is connected to a bad circuit.

I would start by watching your Cable or DSL modem and see if you notice the Internet light change status while your watching a movie (when it drops connection). If you do you, should be able to call your provider to come out for a service call.

My brother wont fax it says Poor line conection (good conection phone works) out of memory

Do you have DSL? If so make sure you have a DSL filter on the line to the fax otherwise the DSL signal will interfere with the fax data signal. The DSL signal might not perceptively interfere with voice transmission (though it is likely that it would) but will definitely interfere with data transmission from the fax.

Will not connect with dsl... all connections are checked by hand and by software troubleshoot and are sound and correct, everything was fine yesterday but today will not get a green light on the dsl at...

No light on DSL usually means a problem BEFORE the modem

Check all your filters (or disconnect phones just to test)

Also check your cables from the modem as well as the modem power supply.

Anything outside that is usually an ISP issue.

They will tell you if they can see your modem and give you tips on re-connect.

Also power down the modem for a couple of minutes along with all your computers.
connect modem first and power it up. Wait till all the correct lights are on (LAN may not light). Then power up one computer at a time to check for conectivity.

Hi any one there to help me ?

you have contacted the service provider?????

i think your DSL device and wirelss is using two separate Ip segments and this is the reason that they are unable to communicate with each other..

Solution:

COnect your system with DSL device via cable.....
then go to Start Menu >> RUN >>>type "CMD" ..Press Enter>>>
DOS window will come on the screen.. here you can type "ipconfig" to get the IP addresses of DSL device...

Just configure your Wireless acording to DSL Device's IP series,
n m sure it will start working...

best regards,

Check if your Dsl is up and running. Your Dsl modem should have a green led with a green light that most be solit green. Connect a cat 5E pach cable from the back of the modem ( it look like a phone pug but it is big er ) to the back of the router, in the port that is label WAN.
