Re:
There is absolutely NO way to use a Memory Stick with the FD83 camera. The floppy adapter will never work with a FD83. The camera OS does not have the required driver.

Some (not all) FD models allow the use of Sony's MSAC-FD2M Floppy MS adaptor. If your camera is one of them, then any capacity MS should work.
Check with Sony if your camera is suited for that accessory. Or check that accessory to see if your camera is listed as supported.

I'm sorry to inform you that the MVCFD85 Camera does not have a Memory Stick slot. The medium using in the Mavica FD camera is floppy disc.
The MSAC-FD2M floppy disk adapter can be used in some FD Mavica digital cameras. With the help of the above mentioned Floppy disc adapter, you can insert a memory stick inside the adapter and insert it in to the floppy disk drive on the camera.
You can manually install the universal usb driver for mavica camera. basically you connect the fd92 and wait for the failure report. then manually select the usb driver from the list. this will install the memory card as a flash drive and enable you to copy pictures to your hard drive.
The Mavica MVC-FD100 has spec for the std. memory stick and does not allow use of the newer Pro-Duo memory stick. Buy an old used std. memory stick on ebay to fix your problem.
Hi,please ask Fixya for the site of WELCOMEJEE,I have similer problems with my 83,mine shows full charge at times ,and low battery and shuts down at other times.
He says that it could be a Battery Fault, even if it shows Full Charge as batteries can be Faulty, please ask Fixya about WELCOMEJEE,regards,Walt.(rtd.)
I have a Mavica FD81, and I do not believe you can use the memory stick adapter with it. This camera came out long before the adapter was available.
The manual only mentions floppy disks.
