Any iPod or MP3 player at its most basic level is just an ordinary analog audio source.

If you look in the manual, page 14...

For just listening, any audio device with a headphone/earbud output can be connected to any available analog Line Level input (except PHONO) with a simple adapter.

I am trying to hook my home theater system to my flat screen tv to play dvd's and to hear the radio.

The TV has nothing to do with listening to the radio. All the TV REQUIRES in as a minimum is a video input from the RTD. Page 2.

Trying to connect the samsung home theatre model - HT-TP33 wih Apple iPOD nano through USB port. But it shows "No File" and gets disconnected. Kindly suggest how to connect it.

The fact that it shows "No File" would tend to indicate that the unit has been connected but there is no compatible file for it to play. Units like these usually only play MP3 or WMA files. Apple iPods usually store files in AAC format which the unit may not be able to play.

How can I hook an iPod touch to a coby dvd968?

It has a USB port that you may be able to us with your iPod's sync cable (I'm not familiar with this Coby model) but you can always hook an iPod to any stereo or home theater using a mini jack to RCA stereo audio cable, just plug one end into the headphone jack on the iPod and the red/white cables go into an audio input in back (or front) of stereo or home theater. Good Luck.

Ipod Hook-up

Ipod's utilize headphone jack style connectors which can be purchased just about anywhere electronics are sold, however most dvd players utilize RCA jacks so you must purchase an adapter from ipod jack to RCA jack it runs usually about $10-25.00 also you can purchase a FM transmitter kit for about the same price but sound quality is not as good so my suggestion is go for rca converter and hook it up to audio input in back of dvd player or stereo for best quality.

My home theater is not reading my Ipod mp3 player.

Make sure the dock wire is connected to the right place, make sure that your version of the iPod is listed as a compatible model - the Philips iPod docks are picky. Also, make sure the home theater system is in DOCK mode.
