My husband and I each got an Axim. I've synchronized mine on the desktop, but can I also use the same desktop and ActiveSync to synchronize his? If I can, how do I do it? Should he just be a "guest"? I'd appreciate any info.

You can both do it, just not simultaneously - meaning don't sync at the same time. You can set up your own partnership with your own preferences. Using Outlook profiles or Windows XP/2000 user settings, you can even have your own Outlook database to sync against so you don't comingle data. Post back with your OS if you need help getting this set up.

I believe Active Sync has been replaced by Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista. I'm not using my Axim any longer but was able to sync it using Windows Mobile Device Center. You should be able to download at : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx
You need ActiveSync from Microsoft. Unless you're using Vista which uses Windows Mobile Device Center. Connecting to the Axim to a Vista machine should automatically download the Windows Mobile Device Center software.
Ok...first what you want to do is take the usb which is attached to the cradle and plug it into your computer. Then if your computer is old you might want to download active syn. From there you can synchronize your personal information

Did you try to set the Backlight on in the control panel? (settings>system>brightness)
The brightness is often automatically set to 0.
If you did this already and it still doesn't work, probably try an email.
Well to make a long story short, after the hard reset I lost all data, and I put the axim in the cradle and it sync-ed but I had to create a new name for it, and it never brough the software that I had originally installed on the unit back... is that common and everytime we'll do a hard reset on it, will we have to re-install all the software and assing a new name to the unit, if so than it is ridiculous!!!
I've noticed that mine will power itself on as well. But is usually goes like this...
1. Sync with computer
2. Unplug cable
3. Turn off Axim
4. ~1min later...Axim is on and at the password screen
It doesn't come with one, but you can use the CF slot. Just pick up a CF Modem, ethernet card or wireless card (for a wireless network) and you are ready to go.
