Setting the Time Manually

Hold the touchscreen to view the menu.
Select > Manual.
Select or to adjust the time of day and date.
Select to confirm each setting.

Take a look at your watch. While models and brands vary, you'll find a few things in common on almost all of them. First, they'll have different modes of operation. A typical digital watch may have modes for time, stopwatch, date, alarm and timer, to name a few. Look on your watch for a button labeled "mode." Press it several times to see what's available. Typically the watch will display the name of each mode as you push the button repeatedly. When you've found the mode you want to adjust, stop there.

2 Look for a button that is labeled "set" or "adjust" on your watch. The location will vary, depending on the brand of watch you own. Press in and hold this button. After a few seconds, the time (or whatever mode) you have selected will begin to flash. In most cases, you'll need to select the item you want to adjust (minutes or hours) by pressing "mode" again. Once the portion you want is flashing, you're ready to adjust it.

3 Press a button to advance the parameter (hours or minutes) that you've selected. This button may or may not be labeled. If it isn't labeled, you'll have to experiment with different buttons. Once you've set the first parameter, change to the second by pressing "mode." Follow the same routine to adjust. To exit, you'll typically press the "set" button.

4 Use resources available to you. There are thousands of digital watch styles on the market, each with slightly different setting methods. When you buy a watch, tuck the manual away in a safe location for reference. If you don't have the manual, do a website search. Most major manufacturers keep their manuals online for easy future reference.

My Emporio Armani 5330 has a problem in that the date advances at noon instead of at midnight so the 24 hour indicator on the bottom of the face is not in sync. How do I correct this?

Simply advance hands 12 hours forwards (clockwise). Just pull out crown to the time setting position and turn the watch hands forwards if the date is changing before midnight. If the date is changing after midnight - turn the hands 12 hours backwards. Don't do this when the actual time is between 10pm - 2am.

I presume that you are winding the watch 24 hours to change the date.

You can shorten the time it takes to change the dates in the following manner:-

Wind the watch until the date changes, then turn it back until it passes 12 again and then turn it forward. Each time it passes 12 the date should increase by a day.

You may have to experiment to find how far past 12 in both directions to get the date to change.

To set a basic wristwatch, simply pull the crown (the winder button at the 3:00 position on 99% of watches) out gently - it will click into adjusting position. Wind to send time and then push back in again.

Variations on this are: If you have a watch with date display, the crown will have 2 positions, the first click will be to set the date and the second click (fully out) is to set time. If you need to adjust the date, I suggest you wind the date to the day before you need and then use the second click to wind the hands to the correct date. This way you will be able to know if you have the hour at a.m or p.m position and avoid it have the date changing during the day instead of at night.

One last variation for wristwatches is a screw down crown. Some water resistant and sports models incorporate an added feature whereby the crown is threaded so it can be tightened down to avoid water entering - the most common place water gets into a watch! If you have one of these, you simply need to screw the crown anticlockwise until it pops out and then refer to the instructions above. Don't forget to push and screw the crown back in clockwise when you are done

mcdevito75 here, The manufacturer recommends you don"t try to change the date between certain hours as this could hurt the date changeing mechanism inside the watch, I don"t think you did any harm (LUCKY) and the date changeing 45 minutes before mid nite is just about right. BUT! if the date change was aliitle closer to mid nite at 1 time you can try to reset the date, here"s how, your stem should have 2 positions to change the date without haveing to cycle the watch the 24 hours 60 times. Slip a finger nail just under the crown and gently, gently lift the crown to it:s first position, it may take a little practise but you"ll get it, once you do, trun the crown and you should see the DATE change, if so set the DATE to 1 DATE before the DATE you want, now pull the stem out and set the correct gate and time of day. Your watch is now reset and date will change on time, around nid nite.
