Soft & Hard Reset

Whats the difference between soft and hard reset? Does a hard reset restore your PPC to the original setup when you first turned on your system. Also I thought you could backup up your PPC to your hard drive on your computer using the backup program that comes with the X5. When I go to use it, the computer is not listed as a device. Only the memory cards are listed.

Correct, a hard reset restores the PPC to its origional state. Soft resets are similar to rebooting your desktop computer. You can backup your device with either ActiveSync or the included utility. I don't have a device so I can't give you exact steps, but I believe what you are seeing is where the device will store the backup. You have to put it on a storage card in most cases, not back on the device.
