Firmware update problem

I downloaded the firmware update 2.0, copied the extracted firmware file F828V2.ash to the root directory of my memory stick, put it in the camera's memory stick slot, turned the camera?s mode-switch to "SETUP", held down the "MENU" button, and switched on the camera (batteriy full, 174min left). and here we go : 1. no message "No file in this folder" on the LCD screen. 2. on the camera-screen-menu, "SETUP 2", there is no "VERSION" entry. i tried with AC power adapter, different memory / pro sticks and compact flash cards, but always the same. what's wrong ?

Hello! I experienced the same problem. I did not updated the firme ware because my F828 already came with latest version. To view the firmeare information in your camera you must have the AC power adpater conected otherwise it wont show. This is all I know. From here I think you have only to follow the steps of SONY guide. Hope I could help in any way.

I doubt this will take care of the problem. The root directory of the drive is the removeable sd card from the camera and it is above the level of the BIN folder. You then plug the sd card back in the camera and hold down the set button. The whole process is outlined http://support.casio.com/download.php?rgn=1&cid=001&pid=987

R4 for nintendo ds lite does not work

Make sure that you have the latest firmware installed in your R4 micro SD card. You can get the latest firmware here:
http://en.r4ds.me/kernel/English-1.18.rar

After downloading, extract the .rar file. Copy "_DS_MENU.DAT" and "_DS_MSHL.NDS" to the root directory of your micro SD (ex: E:\ or F:\),
To play games, simply copy the games you have downlaoded to the root directory also.

I want free downloads of sony psp3000 memory stick games

Hi,

For you to download and play games on your psp, please follow the steps listed herein;

1. Since you can download directly to your PSP memory stick, you'll have to download to your computer and further transfer to your PSP memory stick.

2. You'll have to modify the PSP from the official version to a custom version. You can find out how to do this by typing in this search "How to hack PSP to custom firmware"

You can now do the following to transfer and play games;

a. Get a good memory stick. I recommend that you get a Memory Stick Duo in at least a 1 GB size, though a 2 GB is even better.

b. Find and download the PSP games you want. If you don't know where to find the games try a download service. A good one will let you have unlimited downloads for a small one-time fee. You can see the link below for more information.

c. Unzip the game files and save them somewhere that you can find them easily, like your desktop.

d. Plug your PSP USB cable into your PSP and your computer.

e. For PSP games- go the the root directory on your PSP then make a folder called ISO. (If you downloaded PSOne games, go to the root directory on your PSP and find the folder called PSP/GAME.)

f. Copy the PSP game files into the ISO folder. (Copy PSOne game files into the PSP/GAME folder.)

Once this is done you can now play games on your PSP.

I downloaded the firmware update for my sharp bp-hp20 blue ray player but my player won't recognize the file on my memory stick. Any suggestions?

There are usually two reasons that this happens 1. is that the file needs to be extracted first to the root of the drive ie. not in any folders. 2. is that some of the older sharp products won't reckonize any usb memory larger than 1GB. As is the case with my 52' Sharp AQUOS Special Edition LC-52SE94u TV. Could not read a 2GB Kingston, but reads the 1GB Kingston just fine to update firmware. And Sharp doen't tell you this not even in the online how to firmware update page.

Hope this solver you problem,
Scott

Had to format memory card what do i need to run r4 and memorycard

You will need to download and reinstall the R4 firmware.
After downloading and decompressing the new updated files, there will be one shell folder and two files _DS_MENU.DAT, and _DS_MSHL.NDS.Copy these files to the root directory of TF card to replace the former files (ex. F:\ or E:\).

You can download the update files and firmware here:

I've downloaded a firmware update for my Aquos BD- HP20 Blu-ray player.  Unzipped the zip file and I put the .RVP file onto a Sony memory stick but when I try to get the player to recognize I file on the...

today i solved following errors on sharp blu-ray hp20 when updating software to play quantum of solace:

can't detect software: due to .rvp file being inside a folder--not in root directory on usb stick

more than one software file detected by player: .rvp hasn't been properly unzipped. the 2 gb disc and, as far as i could tell, my system (imac os 10.5.6) showed successfully extracted SINGLE file ready for transfer to dvd player, but dvd player said that there was more than one file. erased the 2 gb disc with disc first aid utility as part of exercise. also verified FAT format on 2 gb disc. only after i used a downloaded free mac utility *specifically for extracting ZIP files* to transfer the .rpv file to the 2 gb disc did the dvd player recognize the file and i successfully updated the player's software! (sorry for the run on, i think the logic is accurate)
