I have a Sony DSC-P72, I have 3 memory sticks, 2 are working fine, the 3rd stick gave me trouble in the camera (I kept getting error codes)after approx. 70 pictures. I inserted the memory stick into a Memorex reader and it does not see it, therefore I cannot unload the photos. I have been using the stick for about 1 year, this is the first time I have been unable to unload the photos onto PC. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

See if you can download the photos through the USB cable. Then try reformatting it in the camera. Otherwise, I probably would get rid of it. Memory is cheap enough, and it's not worth the risk to keep around an unreliable memory card.

this camera doesnt take mem stick pro. has to be the original lavender sticks.msh-ms128 is the model # only goes up to 128 mb. only stick that will work with that cam.
Unfortunately, there is no way to change the internal card reader in the camera to accept higher density memory cards. You can find the memory stick compatibility list here: https://esupport.sony.com/perl/support-info.pl?&info_id=12 . Scroll down to the Cybershot N Series camera list. The maximum capacity memory stick is 4 GB memory stick pro or M2 Memory stick Pro. For the Memory Stick Duo, it looks like those have a maximum capacity of 2 GB.
Is your new 2GB memory stick is original from Sony or after market? some of them will not detect in CAM because the contact on MS were not touched iside the slot of CAM
Reinsert your 512 MB MS if it work fine then change your 2MB MS
Good luck
I think to work on 640 fine you need a much higher memory stick, I use a 2gb in mine and it is fine (that is when the camera works) .You get 24 minutes or more on the 2gb stick and that is at 640 fine.
I had the same problem. I bought a 2 gig memory pro-duo with the adapter and it gave me that error even though it fit just fine. I then tried a 512 memory stick and a 1 gig memory stick and neither one worked it gave me the C:13:01 error code. So I found out the hard way that the camera will not read it. The Sony DSC-S85 will not take memory above a 128. Try the Lexar 64MB memory stick. I just bought 4 and they work perfectly fine.
Several of the Sony cameras require a high speed memory stick for 640 x 480 30fps movies.
Here is a clipping from the Sony P150 specifications:
"MPEG VX Fine with Audio (640 x 480 at 30fps),
(MPEG VX Fine requires Memory Stick PRO media)"
