My Panasonic PT-50DL54J DLP television shut off while I was watching. Now when I power it up it blinks green for about 10-15 seconds and then blinks orange along with red temp lamp blinking red and shuts off. Is this probably a lamp failure? Should I plan on getting a repair man or this something I can myself?

Thanks, that is what I plan to do. Already removed the old lamp module from the TV. Saw some small shards of something in the bottom of bulb. Plan to get s price quote on module replacement from tv repair shop it order replacement online.

Hello
The fault symptom as you indicates is with lamp problem itsef. If you are aware in electronic equipment repair, you can do it by yoursef. Replacing the lamp is a crucial work indeed. If you have confidence to do this work, chenge it by yoursef. Lamp can be detached from the TV, and can be replaced. There is a number for lamp and must be replaced with same type and number. There is a chance to break the lamp while taking in out from the device and to insert a new one. So if you are not so experienced, let it get replaced by any well experienced service technician I advice. OK.

By any way, replace the lamp with original number. It is a high pressure mercury discharge type lamp. The lamp part number is [TY-LA2004]. To purchase a replacement, call the
Panasonic accessory department, toll free at:
1-800-332-5368. To see how the lamp can be replaced, this video will help you a lot.

HI, I GOT PANASONIC DLP TV MODEL # PT-50DL54J, I CHANGE THE LAMP BUT, POWER GREEN LIGHT IS KEEP BLINKING. PL HELP.

On a HP 4266w, Jumper is behind the sheet metal where the cooling fan and radiator is located. You need to remove the three spring screws, fan and sheet metal screws (3), one is deep on the right. Once you remove the clip, holding the radiator, the sheet metal will come off and the dip switch, jumper, is marked. Take the clip off the top and you are ready to go. The radiator clip is tricky to get off as it has a swivel type clip on both ends. I Pushed down one end and lifted the other off.; Take your time. Hope this helps.

I have a Panasonic PT-50DL54J DLP projection TV. It suffers from a shut down problem. Shortly after powering up, the TV shuts off, and the front LED flashes red 6 times. At this point, the TV will not...

I have similar problems. I removed the back panel and use compressed air to blow out all the dust from all the components. Just remember not to blow into the main fan on the right as that is the one cooling the lamp. I don't know for sure if this is the only problem.
Dust built up caused heat built up on the components.

MY PANASONIC PT-50DL54J DLP will just turn off. I

I have posted solutions for similar problems.
There may be a heat issue with the power supply components.
Remove the back panel and blow compressed air into all the component area, (except the fan on the right). The power supply is on the left.
Then vacuum all the dust out.

There may be a problem with the battery in the remote. Weaken batteries can cause the remote to send random signals (including turning off the set).

Panasonic pt-50dl54j

The 3 times LED code points to no fan rotation. There are 2 fans. Check the larger fan first, p/n = FBL12G12LS, located near the lamp. Even though that fan may be rotating, it may be slow.
