I would look for dry joints and poor plug socket connections around the line output section.

STK- , these two ic control the color line stability call convergence of color
you will need a tech specialized with samsung alignement of the convergence
therey are a little bit hard to make it right.

Sounds like the convergence circuit is starting to fail...there are kits available for this set from tvrepairkits.com . The kit isn't all that expensive but the labor to have someone put it in may be expensive.

The Convergence circuit has failed. it is not a simple repair and I would suggest that a Sony repair facility to do the work. I estimate the repair to be around 350.00 to 400.00.

Your reference to concave picture suggests a high voltage problem and not convergence. If the raster can't scan from left to right , top to bottom, your having High voltage trouble. if your colors are not dropping on top of each other that is convergence. I would suggest it may be time to consider a purchase of the new HD set for the cost of this repair. good luck

If it's a projection tv, setting the convergence is normal and necessary sometimes. Go to the menu setup. You should find an option in there for setting the convergence. It's basically just lining up the cross-hairs (+) of all 3 colors so the picture is not so blurry. Just make sure you set all of them that you see on the screen. They all should be sitting on top of each other. Hope this helped you.

Sounds like the image sensor is malfunctioning (common symptoms: distorted images with purple or green cast, completely dark images, flickering lines across the screen.)

you can get it your tv fix the problem is in the IF amp and video circuit.a convergence will also be neeeded.the tv is old but can give you some more life call a tech they will be your tv doc.
