I have a Coby MP3 Player MP 620-G. The battery is very low so I want to charge it. I put the USB cable into my computer tower at the bottom but when I tried to put the other smaller end into the end of the MP3 player, it won't go in. I don't want to force it. Which way should it go in, with arrow on top or the other way. HELP!

SOURCE: coby mp3 mp-605-4g is not recognized by any computers

I have the same problem. If you turn the unit over, you can see a small hole on th bottom right hang side - (next to USB symbol) - The RESET button is located inside. If you insert a small paper clip and press the button for approx 20 seconds it should function again.
Works for me

SOURCE: My Coby MP-610 won't open coby media manager.

1. Did your unit comes with Coby Media Manager? THere are two versions of this unit, one comes with and one doesnt. You can usually tell, if your unit came with an Installation CD, then it doesnt use Coby Media Manager

2. To access CMM - Start > My Computer> Double click the removable disk drive that looks like a 'C' with a big red circle, follow prompts to open Coby Media Manager.

3. IF you somehow formatted or deleted it, you can download a new copy from here:

Coby mp3 player

Try to reset it if possible.
If the computer charges it then the computer recognizes it as a connected device. That's how usb works. It could be you need a new USB cable. Many devices that use USB for charging do not have the data leads connected in their cables. This is called a "vampire" connection as it only sucks 5 volts DC from the computer/charger .

My coby MP3 player will charge when I plug it into the USB but my computer does not even know something is in the USB its a Cody MP619-4G MP3 Player... Thanks

The best cable to use is the one that came with the player
If that does not work, try a different cable.
It may be faulty.
Any cable that plugs in may not work, some usb cables are made for charging only, you need a charging/data cable.

How do i put videos in my Coby MP-705 MP3 Player

1. Connect your MP3 player to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The cable hooks into the bottom of the player.
2. Open Windows Media Player on your computer. If your MP3 player is connected properly, the media player will display The Name Of Your Player in its menu. This is where you place your video files.
3. Locate the video file you want to put on your MP3 player and select it by clicking on it with your computer's mouse.
4. Once the video is selected, "drag" the video across the media player to your mp3 players name display on the player.
5. When your player's name display lights up, release the mouse to "drop" the video into your MP3 player's video file.
6. Repeat the process to place additional videos.

How do I recharge Coby MP3 player? I plugged into USB port for over an hour but it stopped playing after about 20 minutes. Do I need to replace the battery or charge it longer or both? Thanks. Claudia

Coby MPC7085 requires a 12 hours charge when used for the first time.
Always use a direct connection to the computer when charging with the USB cable: a hub or cardreader should be self-powered.
See page 12 of the manual:

Coby mp-c827 mp3 player

your probably using the usb extension cable, plug the unit directly into one of the rear ports on your computer tower and it should show up..these units never break..unless there is physical damage itself.

HELP ME PLEASE!!

I'm not sure which Coby I have but my computer wouldn't read it when I plugged it into the USB port. What worked for me was to take out the battery, plug it into the USB port, add a couple of mp3 songs, unplug it and plug it back in. It was recognized with all the existing media on it and I could edit and delete. Hopefully you have room to add an mp3 or two. My solution last time it happened was to reformat and reload.
