Question about Olympus Camedia C-350 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Connection Problem My Olympus D-560 would lock when I tried to connect it to my PC, a Compaq Presario 6000 about a year old. Since the camera was brand new, I suspected the computer and spent many frustrating hours uninstalling this and reinstalling that. Finally, I sent the camera back and Olympus did a firmware upgrade, which fixed the problem. Then I stumbled across a post on another board that said that the Oly has problems with AMD processors. Has anyone else had compatiblity problems with Olympus? I'm thinking of upgrading, but don't want to go through that nonsense again! Thanks!

Just get a $10 multi-function card reader and be done with it all. I don't think I have ever connected my cameras directly to my PC.

Re: Olympus Camedia D-560 Digital Camera When I

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Trying to hook up compaq presario 5000 desktop, monitor is not working correctly, it works with the old Gateway computer, so I know the monitor and cable are good

check to see if you have two ports in the back of your desktop, try the other one if you do. If not, there is most likely a loose connection.

CD Rom - not working

It is possible for optical drives to fail. The easiest solution would be to try and reseat all the cables and attempt to read a known good CD-ROM with data on it. It it still fails, replace it. Most likely, due to the age of the computer, it has an IDE connection, not SATA.

If you replace it don't forget to place the master/slave jumper pin in the correct position.

To instal ethernet chord drive software compaq presario 6000 seri

The best way to obtain drivers for your Presario is to go to http://www.hp.com and select the auto-detect feature which will automatically detect your computer, ask you for the operating system, Windows XP or Vista and you will be presented with a list of the drivers which will be automatically installed for you. Alternatively you can use this link to manual choose the LAN drivers listed here:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us〈=en&product=434626 If you need further assistance please repost. D-560

Is that card compatible with that camera. They make HD (high definition) cards (4gig and above) that will only work with newer camera's. Of course, i am speaking of SD cards. But the XD may have a similar feature.
That is the exact error i got when i tried to use an HD card in my 5 year old camera.
Try downgrading to a smaller memory card. Also, is that memory card exactly as the one you have had prior to this?
